Strengthening Inst. & Hum. Resources Capacities of Ministry of Social Solidarity

Background

UNDP works with the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS) on supporting the implementation of the gender and social protection component of Takaful and Karama, while utilizing real lessons learned from the first phase of Takaful and Karama. The development and implementation of the said component is expected to increase the access of vulnerable groups to the gender and social protection issues raised on the national platform in targeting challenging issues on the ground under the umbrella of the socio-cultural empowerment package for families.

The socio-cultural empowerment package for families will target a number of socio-cultural issues including domestic violence, harmful traditional practices, and reproductive health issues.  The package will address issues such as: combating child marriage, combatting FGM, trafficking, gender and social inclusion (SDGs 1 and 5).
