  • Launch of Egypt 2010 MDG Report Sep 23, 2010

    This week, Egypt presented its report on the 2010 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), entitled: Egypt’s Progress Towards Achieving the MDGs 2010 at the MDGs Review Summit convening at the United Nations General Assembly. The heads of State and Government, have gathered at the UN Headquarters in New York from 20 to 22 September 2010 to reaffirm their commitment to work together for a better world.

  • Sweden expands its support to Egyptian women’s social, economic and legal rights May 14, 15

    In an expression of the continued support to the advancement of Egyptian women, Sweden announced a new grant equivalent to 18 million EGP to the “Social, Economic and Legal Empowerment of Women” initiative, a joint United Nations programme that addresses challenges faced by Egyptian women and girls and supports their empowerment and participation in the society.

  • Ministry of Social Solidarity and UNDP sign a cooperation agreement to strengthen the institutional capacities & HR of Ministry

    The Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed today Thursday 10th of March the cooperation agreement on the project entitled: “Strengthening Institutional and Human Resources Capacities of MoSS”. The new project aims to strengthen the Ministry’s capacity to better form social policies and deliver the needed social protection services to Egyptian people.

  • Investment opportunities in the transformation of commercial facilities to energy efficiency

    On March 10th, 2016, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Ministry of Electricity & Renewable Energy, Ministry of Tourism and the Egyptian Business Association (EBA) organized an event which aims to demonstrate the investment opportunities in transforming all commercial facilities in Egypt to LED lighting systems offering the shortest payback period for any energy efficiency intervention.

  • Cairo marks World Consumer Rights’ Day

    To mark the World Consumer Rights’ Day, under the auspices of the Prime Minister Engineer Sherif Ismail, a celebration was held on March 20th, 2016 at Conrad Hotel under the title “Energy and Efficiency: More Savings”, bringing together Ministries of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Supply and Internal Trade, the Consumer Protection Authority (CPA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the European Union delegation in Egypt.

  • Improving Family Court Systems To Achieve Better Access To Justice

    Jointly organized by the Ministry of Justice and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the “Legal Aid and Dispute Settlement Office” project conducted a workshop in Sharm El Sheikh from February 16 to18 2016 which availed opportunity for 40 family court judges to get together and discuss the prospects to improving the litigation process in family court systems.
