The BENAA Project was designed to support Egypt’s implementation of its commitments to the different human rights instruments by building the human rights capacity within the law enforcement sector, the media, NGOs, and parliamentarians. Capacity building in human rights for the law enforcement sector comprised training programs to familiarize participants with international human rights standards and values; to promote a dialogue among participants on human rights issues and to enhance competencies and knowledge of participants to apply these tools in their daily functions. This is in addition to the conduct of research competitions on human rights topics; organization of study tours, conduct of awareness sessions and provision of human materials publications.
