J.W. Marriot Hotel has celebrated on the launching of the first photovoltaic roof-top solar powered station for electricity generation
At one of Egypt’s treasures and a place rated amongst the world’s best, the Ministry of Environment, UNDP, the GEF and the Sinai Protectorates, through “Egypt’s Protected Areas Self-Financing” Project officially launched Ras Mohamed National Park Visitor Center.
In a sign of the exerted efforts in the area of environment, the Ministry of Environment and UNDP signed the two projects in the presence of H.E. the Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli. The signature ceremony took place on the margins of the United Nations Biodiversity Conference, currently taking place in Sharm ElSheikh.

Landmines and Explosive Remnants of War (ERWs) have a significant negative impact on Egypt as they continue to hinder the country’s security and socio-economic development. Egyptian civilians continue to use landmine contaminated areas for cultivation, grazing, infrastructure projects, and housing.
Working with parents, particularly mothers, and doctors are among the key pillars of the work to end FGM.
The Sustainable Development Strategy (SDS) encompasses the economic, social and environmental dimensions of development.
